What can you do to help achieve your favorite Sustainable Development Goal by 2030?Oct 24, 2017
The UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out 17 global goals to transform our world over the next thirteen years. From ‘No poverty’ and ‘Quality Education’ to ‘Gender equality’ and ‘Affordable and clean energy’, each of these Sustainable Development Goals presents a formidable and world-changing challenge that clearly requires large-scale cooperation among governments, international organizations and world leaders.
So where does that leave you and me? Few of us would question the worthiness of the SDGs. But sometimes it can seem virtually impossible for any single individual to make an impact. The scale of the problems just seems too great - the challenge of solving them beyond our personal power. And yet we know in our hearts that giving up would only make us part of the problem.
That’s why this year’s UN Day is asking what you can do to help achieve your favourite SDG.
Because it’s simply not true there’s nothing we can do: even making the smallest changes in our lifestyles could help the whole world come closer to the UN’s vision for a fairer, safer, cleaner world. And social media means we have the means – literally at our fingertips – to spread our ideas to billions in a matter of seconds.
With so much to gain and nothing to lose, join us in daring to believe and share your tips now on http://ijasimamcel.mk. All you have to do is select an SDG and say what you are doing – in just 100 characters – to help achieve that goal.
