Head of UNDP Eurasia on a two-day official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia
Ms Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, Assistant Administrator of UNDP and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, will conduct a two-day official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia on 2-3 April.
While in the country, she will meet with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Deputy Minister of European Affairs Bujar Osmani, as well as key development partners and counterparts.
They will discuss the partnership between UNDP and the government in key areas such as support on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), EU integration processes and the country’s on-going reform of key national institutions.
The Regional Director will also look at issues such as employment creation and the inclusion of people with disabilities in the job market. Environmental protection and disaster risk reduction will also feature on the agenda.
As part of her tour the Head of UNDP Eurasia will visit several programmes and projects which are currently implemented by UNDP in the Republic of North Macedonia.
As the Director of UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, since October 2018, Mirjana Spoljaric Egger leads UNDP’s work and teams in 17 countries and one territory, spanning Central Asia, the Western CIS and South Caucasus, and Western Balkans. Ms. Spoljaric Egger previously served as Head of United Nations and International Organizations Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, where she has been instrumental in shaping Swiss UN policies and priorities in support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
